There is nothing to fill in and no size chart to consult. The house does not ask for your measurements, because it is more interested in what you would like to be wearing.

Pick a garment

Press Begin fitting and her chat starts with the garment already in your hands, so the first thing she says is about it. She may adjust a pin, ask you to stand differently or explain what your own shirt is doing wrong. Aurelie measures in centimetres and in glances. Clothilde pins a hat to your head and tells you to hold still. It is all written, and it is all addressed to you.

A garment, a maker's note, a measurement of wit

Every page has three lines. The first names the garment and says what it is made of. The second is the maker's note, a short story about why she cut it the way she did. The third turns to you. The measurements on these pages are never about a body: each woman states one of her own, such as the number of centimetres of patience she needs or how many pins she can hold in her mouth while insulting you. Size never appears as a flaw, a fact to be fixed or a joke.

Filter by room and temper

You can narrow the book to a room of the house, such as the cutting room, the salon, the fitting rooms or the atelier floor, and to a temper: proud, wry, tender or bold. The filter works without an account and remembers nothing about you.

Nothing is sold here

The vocabulary of a fashion house suggests a till, so it is worth being plain. There is no till for clothes. Nothing is sold, ordered or shipped, and no collection exists outside the story.

Written garments only

The coats, gowns and corsets in the fitting book are descriptions. They belong to the conversation and to nothing else. Every maker is an AI character with an invented career, and nobody at the far end of the chat can take an order, post a parcel or tell you where to buy. Each maker hangs her portrait on her card, and one long picture crowns the home page. Nothing here is video, and any further pictures will be announced in the fitting notes once they exist.

What is paid for

The only thing this site charges for is more room to talk: extra days of chat on the bespoke plan. That is covered in the next section and nowhere else.

Fitting guest and bespoke

A stranger may begin a fitting with any maker, with no account, for up to 10 messages. Taking your measure opens all sixteen for 3 days; no card is needed. When that ends you settle into ready-to-wear and your fittings stay filed. Bespoke is $15 per 30-day stretch, or $99 across 365 days; either way you pay in USDT, and the evening count disappears. Cloth once cut is not taken back. Refunds are not on offer, unless a statute makes the house give one; the order form gives the exact words.

Straight talk from the cutting table

Tell Hortense what you are wearing and she will tell you what it is doing, usually with a flourish. Tell Sunita and she will tell you which side she would shoot it from. They are honest in the way good tailors are honest: not to wound, but because a crooked hem is a crooked hem. Each reaction is written in her own voice, with the vocabulary of her trade, and none of it concerns weight.

Taste, not judgement

The difference between criticism and judgement is whether the person is allowed to improve. Here she tells you what she would change about the shirt and then asks why you chose it, which is the question that gets you a real answer. A maker can be severe about a collar and entirely kind about you. Many visitors find this the most flattering form of attention there is.

The Atelier: rooms of the house

A couture house is a building with a hierarchy of rooms, and the women sort themselves by where they work. Here is the floor plan, with who is usually found where.

How the rooms get along

The cutting room thinks the salon is vain. The salon thinks the cutting room is slow. Everyone depends on the dye room, which none of them will admit. The women refer to each other by name in their stories, so a talk with Mathilde may include a remark about a soprano whom Hannelore once dressed in the wrong lace.

Choosing a room

If you like precision, start in the cutting room. If you like wit and a little theatre, the salon. If you want someone to take their time and work with their hands, the fitting rooms are where the slow talk happens. And if you want to hear what colour does to a mood, Maribel will tell you in indigo and cochineal.

Terms of the house: no diet talk, ever

Every house has a rule posted where visitors can see it. Ours is short, and it has no exceptions.

The rule

Nobody in this house talks about dieting, shrinking, losing, fixing or flattering. Nobody is told to be smaller, nobody is teased about her size, and no plot depends on a change in anyone's weight. The same holds for you: if you bring the subject up as a joke, the maker steers elsewhere without a lecture. The house is where the clothes are cut to fit, and that is all it has to say on the matter.

What it changes

A great deal of companion fiction treats a big woman as a problem to be solved or a fantasy to be consumed. Taking that off the table leaves room for the more interesting things: her trade, her temper, her taste, what she thinks of you and what she is making next. The women here have glamour, and they have unapologetic confidence, and they have neither because they were told to.

How a fitting goes

No tape to hold and nothing to download. A fitting is four stops.

    Open the fitting book on the home page, or walk the swatch book and stop at any maker whose card makes you smile.

  2. Begin the fitting

    Her chat opens with the garment as your first message, which spends one of your lines. Strangers may type 10 of them before the house asks for a name.

  3. Talk while she works

    Answer in words, or choose Do and act it out. Open the chat menu to slide the tone anywhere from friendly to flirting to romance; she follows it.

  4. Come back for the second fitting

    She keeps notes on what you liked and refused, and uses them next time. You can read, correct or tear up the page.

What she keeps on file

Fittings are memory work. She remembers your taste in collars, the colour you hesitated over and the joke you shared while she held the pins. A second visit starts where the first ended, which is not the case in any shop you have ever walked into. If you would prefer to begin again, clear the fitting from its menu.

Where the curtain falls
